Biography:

Nabil Azar is an influential industry figure, with over 20 years of experience in Banking and Finance, Corporate Governance, and Payments.

He was for more than 9 years, General Counsel (and Board Secretary) of major listed banks in the UAE (including ADCB, Rakbank, NBF, and UAB).

He was particularly known for his role in ADCB’s purchase of RBS’ retail and SME businesses.

Lebanese-qualified and fluent in English, Arabic and French, he has advised banks throughout his career, both in private practice and in-house at various institutions.

He holds an Executive LLM in Common Law and Business Law from Northwestern University, and he is also UCC qualified (Risk Management/Credit analysis) by Moody’s.
